Integrating the value chain
HyDeal Ambition was launched in 2020 by Soladvent, a company founded by Thierry Lepercq, a serial entrepreneur in energy and technology and author of Hydrogen is the New Oil, with the vision to make green hydrogen competitive with fossil fuels.
HyDeal Ambition is an industry platform bringing together 30 companies covering the complete green hydrogen value chain, from upstream to misdstream, downstream and finance: solar power generation, electrolyzer manufacturing, project engineering, gas transmission and storage, industrial applications in steel, chemicals and power, debt and equity financing.
The world’s #1 project
HyDeal Ambition designed the largest integrated upstream, midstream and downstream hydrogen system spanning from Spain to France and Germany.
With a scale of up to 3.6 Mt of green hydrogen with 95 GW of solar and 67 GW of electrolyzer capacity, tt has been ranked by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in a January 2022 report as the world’s largest green hydrogen project.
The HyDeal Ambition partners jointly invested more than €12m in design and engineering efforts to shape the future of green hydrogen in Europe.
Hydrogen that's competitive with fossil fuels - the #H2gamechanger
HyDeal Ambition has developed a disruptive industrial and financial model which approaches green hydrogen not as a business of small, local and subsidized projects, but as a mass-scale energy commodity.
This model based on value chain integration, captive solar energy production, electrolyzer industrialization, dedicated hydrogen pipelines and demand aggregation.
As a result HyDeal Ambition is able to target green hydrogen production at a cost competitive with fossil fuels in Europe.
Green hydrogen offers zero-carbon energy, a sustainable solution for hard-to-abate sectors. It has the added benefit of being produced within the European union, creating value-added and job in the territories - and without dependency on complex international supply chains.
By bringing mass-scale, competitive, zero-carbon energy to Europe, HyDeal Ambition can be a critical tenet to sustainably strengthen the European industry.
